If you read my post entitled what kind of Web Hosting Types of course you already know some sorts and types of web hosting based on the services provided. Next you need to know the features and terms in web hosting terms that are frequently used.


For those who have a website certainly already familiar with web hosting. But not a bit confused if it finds the term term in web hosting that we do not know the meaning and the function. Therefore in this article will explain in brief about some features and terms of web hosting so you better get to know the features and these terms as well as with its use.

Here are some terms in web hosting are often used: 

1. Disk Space. Disk Space is the capacity of data storage space provided by a website for web hosting services. The Data here can be image files, video, applications, programs and others. For example, the disk space available is 500 Mb (megabytes) so you can store data in website hosting up to 500 Mb limit. 
2. Bandwidth. In terms of web hosting is the most commonly found is the size of the maximum amount of the volume of data that is allowed to access on the website each month. The size of the bandwidth is calculated in units 'Mb' (Mega Bytes) 
3. Add on Domains. Features in web hosting that allows to place or add multiple domain names at once 
4. Sub Domains. Sub domain is part of the domain in which the domain name is placed before the main/parent domain names separated with dots. Example, en.Wikipedia.org. id is sub domain of wikipedia.org. 
5. Parked Domains. Is the domain is added to the main domain/parent and use to access or display the website with the same primary domain. It could be said to be parked domain is a domain name that leads to a different/go to the same website. By using features of the parked domain, you can have two different Web addresses to one website. 
6. Uptime. Uptime is one term in web hosting that is often a consideration in choosing a hosting service.Understanding uptime itself is a measure of the length of time a server hosting can provide services in the form of access to a website. 
7. CPanel. CPanel is a software that functions as a means of setting up the website on a web hosting and become a tool for webmasters doing management website. CPanel help web owners to control all functions related to web hosting, e-mail, FTP accounts, addon domains, parked domains, etc 
8. File Transfer Protocol (FTP). File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a way to transfer files or data between computer networks on the internet. FTP can be used to upload data on web hosting. For example, to upload web pages and pictures to the host server. 
9. Content Management System (CMS)is software used to create websites automatically without having to do programming. With the CMS system also allows one to add or manipulate/change the contents of a website/website. Starting from design, data processing and integration with hosting 
10. IP Address. IP Address (Internet Protocol Address) or an IP address is a number used to identify a computer, server or other devices in the internal network or the internet. So it's more or less what this IP address is the address of our computer on the internet. The Format of writing the IP address it is composed in a series some of the numerical sequence of characters separated by a dot (e.g. 123.123.123.1). 
11. Domain Name Server (DNS). Computer networks to communicate with one another using IP address.Because humans are difficult to recite the entire IP address which consists of a row of numbers that are used for mapping DNS domain names with IP addresses. When you type in a website address like www.yahoo.com what happens is the computer asks the DNS server to locate the IP address. Once found there will be interconnection. So the DNS serves to translate names into IP addresses. 
12. MySQL. MySQL is a database management system as a language that is commonly used for adding, accessing, and processing data in a database. So MySQL function to create the database required by the website. The number of databases that can be made in accordance with the maximum amounts permitted by the web hosting. 
13. Softaculous. It is a feature of auto installer to install CMS. With web software script installs softaculous web applications such as wordpress easily in just a few steps away.
